About PP window
How to display time evolutions of solutions as a waveform
To show time evolutions of the solutions as waveform, only the x-axis and y-axis in the drawing window have to be changed. The steps for this procedure are given below.
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option.
- Select t as X-axis.
- Select a state variable as Y-axis.
- If the end of time of the time evolution gives*1*2, then checks the range and inputs the start and the end of times.
- Display the time evolution of the solution as a waveformx on the draw window.
How to change the phase plane of the phase portrait to be drawn
In the case that PP tool is started up immediately after PP tool produced, the state variables x[1] and x[2] are, respectively, selected as X- and Y-axes to draw the orbit of the solution in the phase portrait.
How to change the phase plane of the phase portrait to be drawn are given below.
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option.
- Select a state variable in the pull down menu as X-axis.
- Select a state variable in the pull down menu as Y-axis.
- If the range of the draw window evolution fixes*3*4, then checks the range and inputs the minimum and the maximum values of the ranges.
- The phase portrait to be drawn can be changed. The following example shows the draw window from the (x[1],x[2])-phase plane to the (x[3],x[4])-phase plane.
(a) Default configuration
(b) Changes from (x[1],x[2])-phase plane to (x[3],x[4])-phase plane
How to fix the draw range (stop auto scale)
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option.
- Select the axis that fixes the range. After that, assign the draw range.
How to add the draw window
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option.
- Press Add New Window.
- Added new Window.
- Configure the newly generated window.
How to change the line width
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option
- Configure the line width from Line -> width in the panel. The default configuration is 0.5 pt. Change the value of the pt.
- The following example is the line width from 0.5 pt to 3 pt.
(a) Default configuration(
0.5 pt)
(b)
3 pt
How to change the point size
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option.
- Configure the point size from Point -> size in the panel. The default configuration is 6 pt. Change the value of the pt.
- The following example is the point size from 6 pt to 20 pt.
(a) Default configuration (
6 pt)
(b)
20 pt
How to change the color of lines/points in a figure
- Select Setting -> Window.
- Start up Window option.
- Click on line color or point color on the panel to start the color palette.
- Select the color to change to on the color palette. Direct input of RGB values is also acceptable. In this case, input the appropriate values in each field. In the following example, the line color is changed from blue to magenta.
- Figure where the line color is changed from blue to magenta.
(a) Default configuration(
Blue line)
(b) After the change (
Magenta line)
